TENTH TALENT VIRTUAL LEARNING SPACE
We will conduct temperature checks each day, will have hand sanitizer available, and will disinfect at the end of each day. It is up to the parent if they want their child to wear a mask. We will be practicing social distancing as much as possible, but we know there could be times when that isn’t possible and if it makes you feel more comfortable for your child to wear a mask, please send one with them. Adult supervisors will wear a mask when closely interacting with students.
Student must provide his/her own laptop/netbook/Chromebook
Student must bring headphones to wear during Zoom calls so as not to distract other students.
Students may bring their own snacks/lunch. We have a water dispenser available at all times and will have snacks available for students. There will be a designated area for snacks and students are asked to only eat/drink in that area.
Students may bring activities to do after they have finished their assignments, or while on a break – including books, board games, etc. Activities should not be those that would create noise and distraction for other students who are still working.
Students must listen to adult supervisors and be respectful to them and to the other students. Disrespect, bullying, use of foul language, eye-rolling, and refusal to follow the rules will not be tolerated and are unfair both to supervisors and other students. Consequences as follows:
1st incident – verbal warning
2nd incident – verbal warning
3rd incident – parent notified
4th incident – parent notified, and student will be sent home for the day
5th incident – student will be removed from the program with no refund given for days not used
If your child does not feel well, has been in close proximity to someone diagnosed with COVID-19, or with someone showing symptoms of COVID-19, please do not bring your child in.
If your child has been tested for strep, flu, COVID-19, or any other contagious ailment and you are waiting test results, do not bring your child in.
If your child has fever, vomiting, diarrhea, a rash, sore throat – do not bring your child in until 24 hours after symptom(s) are gone.
Parents should provide the student’s scheduled calls/Zoom classes on a daily or weekly basis if you would like us to remind the student of their calls or ensure they are getting on.
Please be there to pick up your child on time! After 2 late pick-ups, parents will be charged a late pick-up fee of $10. Parents must come inside to pick up their child. We will not send a child out to the parking lot unsupervised.
Please let us know if your child will or will not be participating in physical activity/exercise classes provided.
If someone other than a parent will be picking up a child, please let us know beforehand. If the adult picking up is someone we do not know, we may ask for identification.
Please make sure we are aware of any allergies or other medical conditions your child may have and provide emergency contact information.
Parents - if your child has a cell phone, it is up to you to set the rules for the use of the phone during the day. If you have stressed to your child they are not allowed to be on their phone during the day, you can let us know and we will make you aware if he/she is breaking your rule, but we will not take someone’s phone from them.
Our supervisors are always there to help! If a child has any questions or needs assistance, we will be sure to help them to the best of our abilities, we never want a child feeling lost without an adult to turn to for guidance.
Adult supervisors will be on hand to remind students to stay on task, but it is ultimately the responsibility of each student to know what they should be working on and to complete necessary work.
Adult supervisors are available to answer questions and provide minimal assistance with classwork, but the supervisors are NOT tutors and may or may not know how the student has been taught and how their individual teacher wants assignments completed.
The space will have some desks and tables, but students are also allowed to bring pillows and blankets should they want to “camp out” on the floor.
Fees are non-refundable once registered and paid. If your child is removed from the program for behavior or other issues, you will not receive a refund of fees paid for days not used. You will also not receive a refund for your child not attending a day already registered and paid for, as that space is held for your child, whether they attend or not.
